The Method Behind Every Painting I Make
Course Trailer
The Frustration Painters Eventually Hit
You’ve learned the fundamentals.
You understand color.
You know about values.
You’ve practiced blending, layering, and brush control.
And yet…
When you sit in front of a blank canvas, everything feels unclear.
You’re not sure where to start.
You second-guess every decision.
You bounce between techniques without knowing what actually matters.
It often feels like you “know” painting — but can’t consistently apply what you know in real situations.
This is the gap most painters struggle with.
The Breakthrough: Why Skills Alone Aren’t Enough
The problem isn’t that you don’t know enough fundamentals.
The problem is that you don’t yet have a method for using them.
Learning to paint without a method is like trying to learn a language by memorizing random phrases instead of understanding grammar.
You might get through a few situations — but you never feel fluent.
Every painting feels new.
Progress is slow.
Confidence never sticks.
A method gives you structure.
It shows you:
• what to do first
• what to focus on next
• what actually matters at each stage
Once you understand that structure, painting stops feeling like guesswork — and starts feeling intentional.
That’s exactly what The Paint Coach Method teaches.
A Clear, Repeatable Way to Approach Any Painting
Instead of teaching you how to paint one subject or copy one style, The Paint Coach Method gives you a framework you can use on:
• portraits
• landscapes
• still lifes
• any subject you choose
You’ll learn how to:
✔ Organize a painting from the start
✔ Make smart decisions instead of trial-and-error
✔ Use fundamentals practically (not just theoretically)
✔ Move through a painting with confidence and clarity
This course turns scattered knowledge into a reliable process.
Why This Works
Most painting courses teach:
“How to paint this subject.”
“How to make this effect.”
“How to copy this style.”
But when the subject changes, everything falls apart.
The Paint Coach Method teaches you the thinking behind painting itself.
Once you understand the structure and decision-making process:
• You adapt faster
• You improve faster
• You feel confident in any situation
This is what turns painters from guessing into progressing.
What You Will Be Able To Do After Taking This Course
By the end of The Paint Coach Method, you’ll be able to:
✅ Look at any subject and know exactly how to begin
✅ Break complex scenes into clear, manageable steps
✅ Decide what matters most in a painting
✅ Stop guessing and overcorrecting
✅ Paint with confidence instead of hesitation
More than improving individual paintings — this course changes how you think about painting itself.
The Core Of My Method
At the core of this course is a simple idea: every painting follows the same three stages I call The 3 S's Of Oil Painting
Simplify. Shape. Sharpen.
Simplify- reducing the subject to big, clear shapes and blocking them in with flat color so the painting reads without detail.
Shape - building form with smaller value shapes and intentional edges.
Sharpen - refining color, value, and edges to bring the painting to completion.
Once you understand these three stages, you can paint anything, from simple to complex, with confidence and control.
“But Won’t a Method Limit My Creativity?”
This is one of the most common concerns painters have — and it makes sense.
Many artists worry that learning a method means:
• painting in a rigid way
• losing their personal style
• following formulas instead of creating freely
But The Paint Coach Method isn’t a style.
It doesn’t tell you what your paintings should look like.
It teaches you how to think through a painting — no matter the subject, style, or approach.
In fact, structure is what makes creativity possible.
Just like grammar doesn’t limit writing (it allows real expression), a painting method doesn’t restrict you — it gives you clarity, confidence, and freedom to explore.
Without structure, painters guess.
With structure, painters make intentional choices.
The Paint Coach Method gives you the framework that supports creativity instead of stifling it — so you can experiment, simplify, and push your work further with confidence.
This Method Supercharges My Other Courses
Over the years, I’ve built courses that teach you the fundamentals, and courses that go deep into specific subjects like portraits, landscapes, and pets.
Each one stands on its own.
But I realized something.
There was one piece that tied everything together.
The Method course is that piece.
Foundations gives you the tools.
The subject courses help you specialize.
The Method course connects it all with a clear, repeatable framework you can use in every painting.
It doesn’t replace the others.
It enhances them.
It’s the multiplier that makes everything click — and gives you a system you can rely on no matter what you’re painting.

Inside, I teach you how to stop painting sloppy — and start painting loose with intention.
Most artists struggle with brushwork because they don’t know why they’re making each stroke.
That leads to muddy colors, overworking, and stiff paintings.
This bootcamp fixes that.
You’ll learn how to place confident strokes, control your paint, and create expressive brushwork that actually looks professional.
If you’ve ever wanted your paintings to feel loose — not messy — this is the missing piece.

What Materials Do You Need?
There is a full list of materials inside the course but I always keep things as streamlined as possible. If you have oil paint, canvas, mineral spirits, and brushes you are good to go.
